What i do when i produce is i don't sit down and say "Im going to make a dubstep song today", what i do is sit down and just play around with my DAW. Try not to make it a job, but just do it for fun. Obviously if you spend an hour on a song and its still crappy regardless of what it is, its time to put it down and try fresh the next day. Cant polish a turd afterall. Anyway, to anyone who wants to produce, just have fun with it. Watch Ronald Jenkees videos and you will understand. You can add any sounds you want to what you have, but don't aim to create something in particular. Learn from other artists, but don't copy it. Flip the damn music business on its head. Could end up being the next big sound, who knows. The morale is the more you try and try to make music, good or bad, you will only get better the longer you try it. You cant aim to be Beatport Top 100 with your first song, its hard work and practicing as much as possible will get you there eventually. Don't lose hope."

Like I said, if you want to get better, research and learn more about how to better yourself. If you're not serious about it, great, there would be no need to ask me how to do it then, but I would assume if someone is asking me how to produce, they are taking it seriously. It's super easy to just record a midi melody and some drums and some bass sounds; it's not easy to make something no one has made before."
RowdyRegoIl y a 1 jour: "Thats true, but that can be said about any music. Every melody has been written already. Everything has been done to death. I understand, you were just giving an answer to a question you were constantly asked. Since that is the case you handled the answer pretty efficiently. Some people like to take the "I wanna self teach myself" approach, but when it comes down to it its very important to learn Music Theory and go from there. I gotta thank Varien for really stressing that to me, because ive been hitting the music tutorials hard since then. Anyways, good video man. People asked, and you gave it to them. Its a pretty hard question to give an answer to."
None Like JoshuaIl y a 1 jour: "+RowdyRego I agree. Music theory really does help and allows people to play different chords and layers."
RowdyRegoIl y a 1 jour: "+None Like Joshua Not only that but it gives you a new sense for music. Where you can hear a note and do all the math in your head about where you can go from that first note. But im going off topic haha. Thats more about writing music, not really about production"
